Ovingham Middle School Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA)

OMS have a PTFA which was established in November 2024.

The Committee is as follows:

Chair: Anna Revell

Secretary: Karen Read

Treasurer: Cassie Liddle

We warmly welcome all newcomers. We understand that parents and guardians have busy lives which is why members are able to offer different levels of commitment.

The aim of the PTFA is to:

  • Develop relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school;
  • Engage in activities which support the school and enhance pupils’ experiences;
  • Provide and assist in the provision at the school not normally provided by the LA.

Membership consists of all current parents/carers of pupils, staff and governors plus past parents, grandparents and friends of the school.

The committee is elected at the AGM held in November and serves until the beginning of the next AGM. Each year the formulation of the new committee is a chance for interested parents to bring new ideas and approaches that help to make activities more varied. Meetings are held once a term.

Our PTFA aims to raise funds for the school to provide valuable resources and activities which will improve and enhance our children’s educational experience whilst at OMS.

All parents are invited to help on special occasions such as School Fair days, music concerts tripsm school productions, discos, folm nights etc.

The role of the PTFA is very important to the life of the school, not just because of the fund-raising and equipment provided, but also because it helps to enhance the community life of our school.

The parents are an important part of this life and the activities organised by the PTFA provide good opportunities for everyone to meet and socialise, so helping to further positive relationships.

We would love to see you at our next meeting which will be on 19th March at 6pm at the Swan in Ovingham. Or, contact the school office who will put you in contact with the Committee if you would like to get involved sooner – especially if you have any fabulous fundraising ideas!!!
